When thinking of a contemporary design, we always imagine a cool coloured porcelain patio with open spaces to entertain and co-ordinated raised and ground planters with a clean sharp look and attention to detail with either contrasting or matching borders and beds with little maintanence. But contemporary doesn't mean you cant use natural stone materials and have plenty of planting, if the correct style and layout is designed a contemporary appearance can still be achieved without comprimising on wildlife or character.
